One of the biggest concepts in psychology is “growth mindset”. It says that we have the capacity to change and improve ourselves over time. In “growth mindset” we believe that we have a potential to change, while in “fixed mindset” we think that we will remain the same all throughout life, without any possibility of change.
The Mind Improves
According to a study published in Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, a mere 30 minutes of “growth mindset” can help young teens improve their conditions of depression and anxiety. Participants in the study were given a 30-minute computer session that taught them about new findings in psychology and the benefits of “growth mindset”. Participants read examples of “growth mindset”. Older youth shared their experiences about how a “growth mindset” helped them handle the real-world problems like projection and embarrassment.
They discovered during the follow-ups, that the participants who took the one-time lesson of “growth mindset” reported less symptoms of anxiety and depression. This means that when you provide reasonable stimulation to the mind, suggesting the benefits of something, it will directly act to improve.
A New Positive State of Mind
It is very important to have a “growth mindset”. Above everything else, it is even more important to be in a passionate state of mind. When you have clarity of thought it is much easier for you to make breakthrough progress.

When a person is suffering from demotivation, or depression or anxiety, general prescription is a set of advice. But advice generally does not work. It is like telling someone to switch on the light without electricity. When you tell the person that it is possible for them to change, the mind accepts the possibility and starts taking positive action to improve self.
